After three years of suspended operations, business in the Kaesong Industrial Complex are starting to reach their limits in terms of finances and patience. An association of Kaesong complex business owners told the Hankyoreh on Mar. 8 that they’re increasing to incur financial losses, adding that they’ve being denied the basic right to visit North Korea to check on their facilities in the complex. The association said that since the complex shut down in February 2006 under the Park Geun-hye administration, complex business have incurred losses surpassing 1.5 trillion won (US$1.32 billion), adding that they trusted the government when they invested in the complex, and now they’re paying for it.
