The joint exhumation of Korean War MIA/POW remains and the civilian use of Han River estuaries that had been planned to begin on Apr. 1 have fallen through due to a lack of response from North Korea. The joint exhumation and Han River estuary use were part of the Comprehensive Military Agreement signed by both sides on Sept. 19, 2018. A South Korean military official said that preparations for the joint exhumation will proceed so the project can proceed once the North provides a response.
