Based in North Jeolla Province, a collective of farmers and civic groups who are trying to send tractors to farmers in North Korea are calling for the lifting of sanctions on North Korea and the resumption of operations at the Kaesong Industrial Complex and tourism to Mt. Kumgang. The collective gathered in front of the North Jeolla Provincial Office and released a statement on Apr. 23, saying it is the right of the Korean people to determine their own destiny, citing the Panmunjom Declaration. The group is planning on driving 30 tractors to the US Embassy in Seoul, where they will hold a demonstration on Apr. 26. They will also celebrate the first anniversary of the Panmunjom Declaration at Imjingak resort in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, on the following day.
