A survey conducted by Realmeter indicates that 6 out of every 10 South Koreans view US President Trump’s impromptu meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at Panmunjom as positive. A survey commissioned by media outlet OhmyNews asked 501 South Korean adults about their thoughts on Trump’s meeting with Kim at Panmunjom in the DMZ. Among the respondents, 62.7% viewed the meeting as positive; 29% viewed it as “just for show,” while 8.3% had no response. Among those who viewed it positively, 95.4% supported the Democratic Party, 77.3% the Justice Party, and 62.6% the Bareunmirae Party. Among those who viewed it negatively, 83.2% identified with the Liberty Korea Party while 58.5% simply identified as “conservative.”
